Page Object Properties
When trying to record events in the Siebel 7.5.2 application, QTP
(8.0, with Siebel Add-in) does not record any property for the "Page"
object. The "Object Repository" has a empty list for the "Page"
object. But when the script is executed, the Test Results displayed
"Siebel eClinical"- Smart Identification
The smart identification mechanism was invoked.
Reason: object not found.
Smart Identification Alternative Description:
Base filter properties (1 objects found)
Has anyone faced such a problem with QTP 8.0 + Siebel Add-in?
The test result says that there are two properties originally
identified for the Page object, namely "visible" and "micclass". But
these properties are not displayed in the "Object Repository" window.

This problem does not seems to be specific to Siebel. I tried to record the operations on the sample web application, "Mercury Sites", provided with the QTP and there too face the same problem. The "Page" objects are stored in the Object Repository without any properties.

Re: Page Object Properties
After reading the post on "Page recognition options" ( http://www.qaforums.com/cgi-bin/foru...;f=20;t=001881 ) I understood that by default QTP does not record any properties for the Page Object.
But even after including the "Title" and "URL" properties to the page object, QTP is still not able to identify the web page. And invokes the "smart identification". This slows down the execution speed.
Is there anyway to overcome this problem in QTP?
