I was in two minds whether this should go in the certification forum but I'm clearly more interested in QTP related certification and courses. So thought this might be a better place to get some help.
I'm pretty much a newbie at QTP or rather QA on the whole. I stumbled upon this as a career opportunity quite by accident but have relished every moment of it since then. The way I have learnt QTP is mostly by self-training. Since many of ya'll are the Gurus of QTP and QA , I would like to know how valuable a certification in the field would be. I'm pretty comfortable with my self-training but should I be looking at courses offered outside? What other technologies/tools should I be really good at? I'm decently acquainted with TD, Rational Robo and Test Manager as well as WinRunner and a bit of LoadRunner. I am probably better with the Mercury suite than with Rational. If any of ya'll have ever been involved in the hiring process, I'd also like to know how important certifications are.
Appreciate the advice.
