Extracting values from database - Not Null

I am trying to create a database checkpoint. I think I've done that okay, but here's my problem.

When I run the test, it is using the data I originally pulled. In my test, there is a time/date stamp that is placed in the database. All I care about is that there is a value in the cell(s). I really don't care what it is.

However, QTP keeps trying to compare the value to the query that was run when I set up the DB checkpoint. In other words, when i set up the DB checkpoint, the time/date was 12/14/2004 12:00:00 PM. But when I run the test later, it is comparing the current timestamp (12/14/2004 1:23:09 PM, for example) with the original one that was pulled on the original query.

I guess what it boils down to is this... How can I just check that cell(s) are NOT null? I'm not very well versed with SQL, so this has become a little difficult.

try using a regular expression on your QTP so that when it compares it to the db checkpoint it only looks at the format.
