I have a script created in QTP 6.5 AND i have the object repository for the same.
Can i export the Object Repository to a file and save it in my hard disk and then can i load the Object Repository file when i install QTP8.0 on my machine?
I have a trial version of QTP 6.5 now and i have created a script with that, but the trial version will expire in few days and after some time we would buy QTP 8.0, so i wanted to know whether i would be able to run this script in the new QTP8.0
I intend to save the script in a notepad.
Is it possible?
Re: Object Repository
You can leave your script and Repository as is
or copy entire script directory into another place. When you get QTP 8.0 - just run it.
Should work. But 8.0 doesn't have backward possibility (Meaning: Repository 6.5 will be adapted to work with 8.0 and never will be running on 6.5)

For script - it is OK.
Repository is binary file. Should be in appropriate format.
