    Re: divide parts of script

y dont u try the Shared OR in QTP? In this case, you can change the object properties alone in one place which will change the contents of all the scripts!

    divide parts of script

suppose lets say that i have 4 screens and 100 testcases. say, if i create 10 scripts that cover those 100 tests. if the ui screen layouts change, i would have to make changes to all the 10 scripts. given this, i would prefer to use some virtual layer that will be common and central to all the 10 scripts so that if ui changes, i will have to change just change that central magical piece.

how to go about with this in qtp

    Re: divide parts of script

If you can find any general functionalities in these 10 scripts, you can segregate them and record them as reusable actions.
Then in the 10 scripts you can call these reusable actions whereever needed in your scripts.
This would save your work if there are any changes in the screen layouts as you use
    1. Reusable actions
    2. Shared Object Repository for this reusable action
