Did QTP ever erase you code or repository?
I have been using QTP 6.5 for about 2 weeks and a very serious bug has already occurred several times; QTP erases code that I write!
Usually, it's just objects in the repository that get erased, and I see that scripts that worked yesterday don't work anymore today because the windows and controls are no longer recognized. I then have to run the script and with every object recognition that fails, open the object repository and add the object that's missing.
And today for the first time actual code got erased. I had a script with 4 actions in it and the 4th action had about 90 lines of code in it. I ran the script, and the 4th action didn't do anything at all - so I opened it up and it had only 9 lines of code left! The rest of my work just disappeared as if never existed.
I am on Win2K professional. Did anyone else experience such phenomenons and is it fixed in QTP 8.0?
Re: Did QTP ever erase you code or repository?
I believe there is an object repository patch for QTP on the Mercury support site. It fixes problems with the repository, especially large shared repositories. Go check it out, hopefully it will help you.
