Hai to all,
Actually i am the starter of QTP.so I am sorry If I am asking about the basic questions.
i have gone through qaforums and tutorial. In QAforums it is said that goto descriptive programming.where as in the tutorial it is all about the programming concepts.but actually my question is how to start.i.e
when I am recording using the flight application
for login it does like this'
With Browser("Welcome: Mercury")
.Page("Welcome: Mercury").WebEdit("userName").Set "kal"
.Page("Welcome: Mercury").WebEdit("password").SetSecure "40bdcfb060b6df6e3941278177"
.Page("Welcome: Mercury").Image("Sign-In").Click 17,11
so without recording how can i launch to the particular webpage and objects in the webpage.
even though it is basic question, please help me. .
QTP doesnt open Object Repository if there are no objects in it. (it is disabled)
So 1st, u can open the URL by setting the URL in the Test -> Record & Run Settings.
Initially u will have to record just one statement. (so that any object gets into the repository)
Later (if using QTP 6.5) u can record all the objects into the repository by using Tools - > Object Rep. -> Add New Object (Using this, u can choose to add all the objects in a page)
Tatz it !!
I understand u r new - but an advice->
Its always GOOD to do "some" R & D on any thing New.
I did finish my tutorial on QTP6.0.i could not able to make out how to make an object as testobject(create)if we r not using recording. As u specified ifirst I used runtime settings to selct the path of the website i recorded for login window.but for the pages(for the objects inside it) inside i want to write the script by myself.so i tried to add the objects for that paricular page in QTP6.0.I was only abble to add the properties of that objest which was recorded.but was unable to add the objests of the page.
In version 6.5 and 8.0 ofcourse you can get an object into the object repository wihout recording, you just press the button Add in the object repository, a hand pointer appears, than you click on the object that you would like to add and thats it
