.net add-in for quick test pro
I'd like to know how the .net add-in would be helpful when it is installed with quick test pro.
Does the .net add-in help us test/validate XML and SOAP requests as well? Is it easier to retrieve all the XML tag elements and the value/data within them so I can actually test them for correctness? I have an application whose Web services serve the SOAP requests sent through a client.
Which tool is a better option to automate the testing of my application? I currently have Winrunner which does not serve this purpose.
Re: .net add-in for quick test pro
Yes .Net Add-in is helpful BUT only for the UI elements of Web.
Ask merc guys for Add-In 6.5.1 (It supports Infragistics)
But if you are looking forward for the XML/SOAP Validation you can do so by using XML checkpoints provided you have XML file available.
Using XML Check Points and XML Obkects you can put your logic and apply Validation of XML DTDs and Schema.
But I dont think QTP can trap the SOAP requests or XML files at run time coming and going from a Clients Machine.
Load Runner with Win Sock protocol is the best tool for it But its for Performance Testing!
