QTP/Test Batch Runner questions
I'm pretty new to QTP (actually I've been using it as of yesterday), and I'm having some trouble getting the scripts and batch runner to work together. I'm trying to keep the scripts modular so that if one fails the rest will still run.
My first script performs a "login" and calls the specific executable. Question 1: How should I set up the rest of the scripts that are dependent on this?
Since calling the specific executable prompts me to "login" again, I've currently structured the tests to use "any application". Question 2: What is the best method to verify that the application is present and active?
Question 3: What is the best method to recover from an error in a script (for example a repetative action)? I'm assuming that this would be some implementation of "On Error Resume Next".
Thanks for the help!
Re: QTP/Test Batch Runner questions
Q1) Are you using scripts when you mean Actions?
Q2) As I navigate through an application I use checkpoints to verify the correct screen/page is displayed.
Q3) Use the Exit commands (see ExitActionIteration in the documentation ).
Hope this helps, Mark.
