Finding field on the label
I faced this problem when trying to get the required field on the labels generated in my testing a web application.
The web application generates a lable for the successful PASS testcase with a 12digit number.
I want to record that 12digit number which is unique for all PASS cases.
The web page has a jsp extn.
I have 4 options for this.
1) Getting the 12digit number directly from the label.
2)Right click on the label which shows the properties of that label with the 12digit number as the file name.
3)Right click on the label and select "Save as" option which shows the 12digit number as the file name.
4)Click on source code and find for the 12digit number which has the extn of *.png.
But I was not able to get the 12digit number with any of these methods.
(But in QARUN option 2 and 3 works well)

In addition to what Dima said, even if the object spy gives you an object from which you can't directly read the property you're looking for (an activex control for instance), you can use the .object property to access the object's internal methods. Get your programmers to tell you what's the "get" method for the object, and you're all set. For instance:
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">val = Browser("a".Page("b".ActiveX("MyLabel".Object.getMyProperty</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">
