automating queries to Oracle 8i QT 5.6
When doing automated checking for query RESULTS that are printed as RESULT HTML from a servlet query, can I resolve this by checking SOLELY the HTML that comes out? This question arises from a particular problem....
here's the situation. The webpage I am testing is supposed to ultimately upload a record, validate it, then insert/update into appropriate tables on another table. I am currently testing the first part of this process. This is the process I am automating where I am running into trouble:
First I upload a file using a file-open dialog. Then the first set of validations go through. If any errors occur, they show. In this particular case, there are no errors. Next, I click on a frame that lists all the warnings. This page creates a dynamic list of all records that were uploaded in table form. Name, description, and clickable icon if there are warnings. When I click on this icon of warnings, there is supposed to be a list of warnings, and the specific warnings and specific record/row it pertains to. When i automate the test, THIS DOES NOT SHOW. All i get is a blank screen...
Thanks for all help in advance...

Before clicking check with object Spy and see wheather the QTP identifying these clickable icons or not? if not you can configure these dynamic objects to a images or links.
