    Associated library file

    Hi:
I have a VBScript file that I call from my action using the "ExecuteFile myFile.vbs", and it works fine. I tried to make this file as the Associated Library file and removing the ExecuteFile command from the action and the script comes back with an error. Has anyone successfully implemented vbs file as an associated library file?
Thanks in advance for all the help.
    Murad

    Re: Associated library file

Yes, I use several .vbs files via the resources tab in my tests. Things work fine except debugging in the external libraries is a pain. I usually get my code working as an action in QTP and then move it to an external library. (I wish someone would suggest some strategies.)

Are you declaring variables with specific types? I had some problems early on till I woke up to VBScript only supporting variants.

    Re: Associated library file

Watch out when trying to specify a library file to use via the Resources tab... If you went to TOOLS>Options, this only means that tests created AFTER the setting is applied will have the files you listed pre-populated as a resource.

The list of files for existing tests must be changed via the TEST>Settings Resorces tab !

    Re: Associated library file

We found that .vbs files do not load correctly when on a network drive with a long file path.

    Re: Associated library file

Thanks for the help. I was trying to specify the files using the Tool>Options... after the test was created. I moved it to Test>Settings... and it is working now.
    Thanks!
