Office Web Components?
Does anyone have experience using QTP 5.6 to test web pages using OWC? I thought they were simple ActiveX components, but when I load the ActiveX add-in and try to access the pages, IE crashes on the owc10.dll. (I'm running IE6/SP2 on XP SP1 with the latest OWC plug-in).
I've ended up turning off all add-ins and using some VB tricks I found on Mercury's site to do what I need. But before I record 30+ tests I want to make sure I'm not missing something that would make my life easier!
Re: Office Web Components?
I am interest in buying QTP 6.0, but only if it can correctly "see" OWC control objects, and "interact" with controls inside these complex activeX components. For example, can I drill down on data items in a PivotTable Component and read values from the spreadsheet cells?
The Mercury sales person has an SE looking into this, but I have not yet heard back from him. I would though prefer to hear from users of the product.
1. Have you been able to achieve this Tumbleweed, even with workarounds? [Would you be willing to talk with me via email? My address is email@example.com].
2. What was Mercury's response to your crash problem on OWC client side library, owc10.dll?
3. Does anyone know if QTP 6.0 offers better support?
