Pass parameter from TD to QuickTest?
Is there any way to pass a parameter from TestDirector to QuickTest? When I run a test from TestDirector's Test Lab I would like to be able to pass a parameter to my QuickTest script to tell it what URL to open for example. Otherwise it looks like I would need several copies of the QuickTest script with different starting URL settings. Got to be a better way. Thanks in advance for any help.
Re: Pass parameter from TD to QuickTest?
I write what I do with this problem. I think that TD can't pass parameters. You can pass parameters between two QT scripts.
If I have this problem, I would begin with a script for parametrize the URL in a variable. With the DataTable you can have a list of URL and the test do this script one time for DataTable arrows. You have to put the URL in an Environment variable.
Environment("variablename") = URL
Then you have to do a call to the script with the option Insert call to action.
Finally you can catch the value like this in the other script:
mine = Environment("variable")
I think that the parameters with TD only can be used with manual scripts.
