Scheduling a UFT test
I am trying to find a way to schedule a UFT test I created.
I canít seem to find a way to schedule it to run at a specific time.
If there is no way to do it within the software, does anyone have an alternative method? Maybe write a time such as input date and time then click run and it waits until date = @inputdate?
The two most common methods I know of are:
1. Windows Task Scheduler
There will be a few threads here on the topic.
... just another Tester ...
1. Create a .vbs file to launch QTP with required settings, add-ins etc.
2. Now we will automate the opening of vbs file through Windows Scheduler.
Go To Start > Control Panel > Schedule Tasks > Click Add Schedule Tasks Click Next on the screen. Click Browse and and select the .vbs file you just created. You will get this screen
3. Give a name to the task and select the frequency for performing the given tasks. For this demo we will select “One time only”
4. Select Start Time and Start Date. For this demo, select Start Time as current time+5 mins and Start date as todays date.
5. Click on Finish
Note: The steps above are for Windows XP and may be different for other Operating Systems.

i did something similar to thomasdfg except that I did not use the scheduler. I made a loop in the .vbs script that kept checking the system time. It would look at the rows of data in an
Excel sheet. It would keep checking if there was anything to run. It would wait if a script was already running.
When in Florida, Don't Tampa with the code. I made this up.
