local Object Repository disappeared from screen and won't display again
Back to UFT (from working with Ranorex with mobile apps).
In UFT 12.51, I have the local Object Repository displaying and can see new objects that I am adding to it.
Then the dialog/screen of the Object Repository disappeared (Well...I was in a gotomeeting with MobileLabs Support person who I shared screen with and control).
After that, no matter what we do to display it back (from the Resources menu, Solution Explorer area, toolbar icon) it won't display anymore.
I ran the setup and did Repair then rebooted my PC and tried again.
Still, the Object Repository (local) won't display.
Any clues on how to get it back? (besides reinstalling UFT)
Tried plugging in to a second monitor to see if it's just displaying over there?
Using "Alt Space" then "M" to bring up the move command then arrowing over left or right may work too.
Two stupid question but here goes:
Have you tried recording some new objects?
Have you tried Menu: Tools > Options - "Restore Factory Defaults" (button on the bottom left)
This is almost the trick I always use...

Thanks for the inputs/recommendations.
I always use two monitors.
I did recorded new objects after the Setup/Repair and even did it from a new UFT Solutions.
I have not tried the "Restore to Factory Defaults" so I will try that before attempting to install the latest version of UFT 12.52 (might as well, if this missing OR display is not resolved).
I will also try Alt-space, "m" then "Down Arrow" --- something I have not tried before.
I thought what ever caused this OR dialog to disappear will disappear after the Repair but, I guess I'm wrong as it seems to carry over even on a new Solution or new Recordings. There's got to be something in the Settings that should fix this thing.
Let me also check the HP UFT Customer Forum too to see what people there are suggesting.
Was working with MobileLabs Support on some issue on Trust Add-in for UFT, shared my screen, and gave the support person the Control of my PC when this happened. Things went so fast so when the OR dialog disappeared, I have no clue what was clicked or done.

Wow! That Alt-space, "m" then "Down Arrow" did solve my issue.
It seems like this missing local Object Repository dialog just came out from under the Win7 Start button or Taskbar.
Well thanks for the help. I'll post this resolution at the HP UFT Customer Forum too.
Cool, figured that was the issue. That window tends to get lost when displays are messed with. Or maybe the support person just moved it out of the way down there.

I now use this technique FIRST whenever I have a window go missing on my desktops
Speaking of lost windows...
One day I was running a manual test using ALM/QC, and I put the manual steps window over on my second monitor. Finished the test, closed ALM, and logged off for the day and went home. the next day, I was working on my laptop from home (note: my usual second monitor not present at home heh) , and I tried to launch a manual test in ALM, but the manual test running window never came up. er, I couldn't find it. Turns out that specific window (the manual run window) remembers it's screen position, even if the monitor doesn't exist...
To make matters worse, my laptop does NOT HAVE a second VGA port - I use a port extender at work with the second monitor connected...
...but it does have an HDMI port. I had to go to the living room and plug my laptop into the big TV and set it into the same position as my original second monitor, and low and behold there was that manual test window sitting there in limbo. Moved it back to the main screen with the mouse, unplugged from the big TV (the kids were happy to go back to watching their cartoons), and I was able to go back to my home office to continue working...
THAT window does NOT seem to respond to the alt-space, m, arrow trick.
Maybe someone at HP should have done something.. I dunno... like maybe some "testing" or something...

You're right, MTerpstra.
Maybe HP should have done some testing on this. As the HP Support person did not know the solution. I shared your solution to him in the HP UFT Customer Forum.
I wasn't in control of my PC when this thing happened. The MobileLabs Support person was showing me something when the local Object Repository dialog disappeared. The bad part is that we don't know what caused the dialog to disappear and when it did, there is no indication/hint/icon on the screen kind of telling you that the OR dialog is there. Maybe if I had move the Taskbar to the side of the screen I would have seen it since when I followed your key sequence, the dialog kind of popped up from underneath the Taskbar. If you notice, this local Object Repository dialog does not have the Minimize and Maximize buttons on the UFT Titlebar unlike the Object Repository Manager dialog. Otherwise, the dialog may have docked on the Taskbar just fine where people can find it.
Man, sounds like you're a decade or two behind on monitors at home. VGA port still?
