BTW, does LeanFT or Selenium have the ability to record/playback in analog mode? We have some tests where we need to draw shapes in a map.

Are you talking about image based recognition?

I don't think either tool does that. I'd probably use Sikuli for that. It's a java based, and can be used as a stand alone library as well, so it's possible to run it along side Selenium or LeanFT.

No, just X & y coordinates, based on choice of monitor or window object. For instance, I can open up Paint and record in analog mode drawing a house (or anything). I can play it back and it will draw that house.

    Alex,
I feel that I should know what FOSS means. Also what is HP SaaS?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

FOSS = Free and Open-Source Software
SaaS = Software as a Service... basically, subscribe to the service and you get the software, instead of buying the software outright. it's a leasing plan for HP products.

Have a look around https://saas.hpe.com/products [it's not just ALM and UFT license servers].

As Dennis said: Instead of setting up managing and maintaining your own infrastructure and tools, you can lease it from HPE -- they take care of the infrastructure, patching and upgrades and guarantee a 99.something uptime/availability.

    Hi Peter,
Kevin Here. Please let us know what direction you go in with automation. You seem to be in a good situation where you can try different paths before locking into one.
I'd like to know what is happening at the leading edge of the main choices.
    Thanks,
    Kevin
