I can write a scirpt to find this out.
I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this before I go through the excercize.
I expect that data stored in arrays is faster than the same data being retrieved from an Excel worksheet.
When in Florida, Don't Tampa with the code. I made this up.
Your suspicion is correct. Accessing data in an array is much faster than getting it out of excel.
Yep. I always try to avoid introducing an excel dependency too. Not all machines have Office(especially vms created just for running automation). Use either csv/xml files or a database.
Have you considered adding Dictionary Object to the speed test Kevin?
its Arrays or dictionary object which would be faster in retrival. I hope both are same in performance.
when things gets harder ,the harder gets going
The Excel independence is a good idea.
I am looking into using a Dictionary object that will hold arrays.
Dictionary object is too handy to pass parameters, which will also help to write precise code
