UFT 12.x / IE8 / IE9
I have exhausted my searching so I am hoping someone else can help provide some useful information.
I am running UFT 12.02. I have two machines that I am running UFT. One machine has IE8 and the other machine has IE9.
There are issues with the script running in IE9; however, the same script runs fine in IE8.
Have you had similar issues? If so, how did you resolve the issues?
Thanks in advance,
Additional Note (per Gilbert's comment below): During one execution, QTP will not recognize the button in step X. The next execution, it may get past step X but fault on input to a text box. There is no means to duplicate the issue.

I think if you give additional info on exactly what specific stuffs are not working, members here may have the suggestions for you.
By just saying "there are issues in IE9", that's hard to tell where you need help.
I had a few issues when making my scripts IE9/10 compatibale

That caught me out too.
I was not successful with the potential solution you had provided. Rather than setting the "ReplayType" around a control step, I just set it at the beginning to be done globally. There is not a specific step that QTP is failing at using IE9.
I did read in some blogs that few people have issue with UFT/Window7/IE9, but as Gilbert said - if you can point out couple of steps where the script failed for IE9, maybe our experts can help you out.
What we are trying to say is that:
If you are having issues with objects not being recognized, for example, tell us if it is one specific object or all objects such as issue with WebButtons or WebEdits.
If issue is at Runtime, at least tell us what errors/messages you are getting. What is your test attempting to do that is failing?
Tell us what type of application you are trying to automate with UFT.
In short, where is UFT failing in IE9?
Gilbert ... you ask some very valid questions. Unfortunately, the circumstances are not that direct. UFT/Win7/IE9 will fail at random areas. The first couple of runs may be successful from steps 1 to 10 but fail at 11. Another run might fail at step 6. In general, I cannot get UFT/Win7/IE9 to go through a successful run.
You may have to check with the HP Support. I'm pretty sure they'll ask you what type of application you are testing: .NET, WPF, etc.
I wanted to check out IE9 but all our test machines are now either IE8 or IE10. I guess our Dev Team told people not to install IE9.
I assume you already applied the Patch 1 for UFT 12.02. And maybe even have tried turning on/off the Compatibility View.
Good luck. Hope you find the fix or be able to convince your team to skip IE9 and go with IE10 instead.
I have made the decision to skip IE9. The project may follow too with dropping IE9 too.
I appreciate the feedback.
