So, UFT 12.02 readme shows this:
•Support for Mobile: You can now configure UFT to connect to the HP Mobile Center and record and run functional tests on mobile applications running on real devices hosted on HP Mobile Center.
Does anyone have more info on HP Mobile Center?
(How does it work?, How much does it cost?, etc.)
Is it a combination of software and some sort of a USB Docking Station? (similar to Perfecto's solution for mobile apps testing using QTP/UFT?)
HP Mobile Center is a separate application. You install it on a device (server) which is also connected to a USB hub. You connect mobile devices to the USB hub. Then, through Mobile Center, you can direct tests to run against the connected mobile devices. It is similar to the PerfectoMobile model. HP is still partnering with PerfectoMobile, and see this as an offering for onsite setup in an area that was not covered by PerfectoMobile.
HPE Mobile Center has quite evolved since you last posted your request.
As a recap, it is the gateway that expands HPE software to the mobile technology.
It works natively with HPE Application Delivery Management (think "UFT or QTP" extension ), HPE IT Operations Management (think "mobile monitoring").
Beyond the usual automated testing capabilities (objects, checkpoints, network virtualization, CI, gestures, etc.), Mobile Center provides 4 cool things:
1- Unlimited basic security scans of apps and identify security vulnerabilities early in the development and testing cycle (right from the MC interface)
2- Integration with Genymotion Android emulators
3- Integration with AppPulse Mobile which allows to bring analytics into testing (think "what to test on" - both from user flows and device)
4- Mobile Center provides you with a Beta version of a Sentiment Analysis service that will scan end-user comments on your applications, categorize them and provide a weighted score.
