Reusable Action not updated in calling scripts
I have a script with a reusable action. I call that reusable action from dozens, maybe hundreds, of other scripts. I had to make a fairly significant change to the reusable action recently but that change isn't showing up in any of the scripts that call it. They all still execute the previous version of the action. Is there any way to make all the calling scripts use the updated code? If not, what's the point in having reusable actions at all?
I'm using QTP 11.0 and QC 10.0.
I gave up actions early on since they were so much slower than using functions for the same purpose. But there are different ways to link the actions. Would need to be a call to an existing action rather than a copy of the action which sounds like what happened.
Ah, I think I know what happened. I created a template using a call to an existing action. I then set that template as my default for new scripts. I'll bet that instead of maintaining the call to an existing action that I set up in the original template, it started making copies.
I am not a big fan of actions, either, but in this case it was the best way to go... or so I thought.
