Verifying webpage content between existing system and new system
We have an existing website that is in production, but we in the process of upgrading to a new website. What is the best approach to recording the the scenario from the existing website and verify that the scenario works on the new website, there will be some browser and page name changes on the new website. Thanks
Do you have existing automation in place?
If you do have existing automation. I'd think about re-factoring the tests into screen/page objects, then pulling all object recognition properties into a centralized location within the page/screen object, so all the recognition is in one place.
Assuming most of the flow is similar. This will allow you to remap and refactor the small differences in page layouts and Ui interactions in a contained way within their page/screen objects.
Before you begin the execution, you could make sure that test objects that were available in your old system against which your script would be working are not changed in the new system.
This you can do by few ways refer the following post on SQA Forum -
To verify all objects and all properties in a Dialog or a Page
Let know if have any further queries. This could save you time(script execution time) and could get quick feedback on changed test object properties and their values.
