Problem in Automating Dot Net Application
I am automating a .Net application using QTP 11.0,I am facing below issues,If anyone can help or give some ideas to overcome from this .
1. In .Net app lot's of Janus controls which are not identifiable by QTP.
2. Some objects which are seeing as Combobox, listbox, Radio Button etc., QTP identifying them as Swfobject, which causing to perform action on Object.
I am stuck here and needed help.
I need views on that whether I should go for the further automation of the app with QTP, or should I explore any other tool for that, or should I fail the POC of the application.
If any one have solution or workaround on this, Please share.
Thanks in advance,
can someone please share some views on this.
can you check,
1. r u installed all the patches properly especially .NET supported patches.
2. when u go to the QTP Login, did u select all the .NET add-ins
3. Check smart identification is on/off.
Have you checked whether 11.0 supports janus .Net controls, or whether they are supported in 11.53 or 12 (there may be specific addin for them).
I haven't checked on this.. Is any documentation from HP saying that 11.53 or 12 version supporting Janus or other controls, I am also facing the identification problem for Infragistic controls.
I am using the .Net add-in, which identifying the objects as swfWindow etc. but when it comes Janus controls, spy not giving me desired outcome.
Yes there is a PDF supplied with the installer called 'Product Availability Matrix' I have just searched it for Janus and go no hits. However that does not mean you cannot use QTP v11.nn as there is a .Net extensibilty toolkit available.
The down side is there is a lot of pain using to extensibilty toolkits, the upside is that your objects may be supported under QTP v11.53 or 12
Have you contacted HP support about this or are you out of a support contract?
Thanks Mark & NoUse4aName,
Let me try with 11.xx or 12, I am not sure whether i'll be able to check this as I am not sure whether this version is available here, Yes using .Net extensibilty will surely trouble me.
Not contacted HP till now, but I heard from someone in my company that we are out of support.
Anyways thanks to both of you.
i have faced the same problem with you .now i use UFT12.01 and the .net controllers are supported well now .you can try UFT12.01 .i assume that it will work well on your application.
You may use one of the 2 options:
1). Try using .object and explore more on its native methods.
2).Also look under .Net Extensibility support.

Note: Directly it is still not supported in UFT 12.
