Need some more detail on your requirement. Of course it's possible to pass data between languages, by going to some common data transport method. Database, csv, command line call that returns values, api, etc.
NoUse4aName and Mark,
I was looking for something more where there could be an internal connection between the two languages.
I'm not exactly sure where I was going with this question so maybe I should stop asking about it until I can be more clear about it. The community is always assisting me when I have a question so I'll stop until I figure out what I'm trying to do. I don't want to wear out my welcome.
You can try to use a Test Harness in this case, You can develop a small Java applet and have a Combo box and a button within it and in the combo box load the routines you wish to run then on click of the button just pop up a message box with a success or a failure. You can pretty much record the applet objects using QTP and Java Add in. Hope this helps.
I don't build Software but I make them work better, Testing is a Passion
You can't access a variable in a java application directly from vbscript if that's the sort of thing you are asking. It would have to be some sort of output from the java app that the vbscript could read. This is why json/xml/csv/databases/etc exist.
To put it in a real world context, if your company's app has some 3rd party integration it is likely being done through APIs. Where one is just making a web request of the other and receiving xml/json data in response which it then uses. The code bases are not really talking to each other directly. They are sending messages through a common format like xml. You would have to do something like that.

NoUse4aName and others...Yes I was wondering if there was a way to access a variable in a java application directly. I guess it wouldn't work unless I sent a value to an address in memory, but that sounds like an awful way to do it.
