How to work with two applications. One 'Web' the other 'Siebel'.
I have two applications. One 'Web' the other 'Siebel'.
I need to do the following in a script:
1) Add the 'Web' addin
2) Start the 'Web' application
3) make some changes
4) Close the 'Web' application
5) Remove the 'Web' addin
6) Add the 'Siebel' addin
7) Start the 'Siebel' application
8) verify changes made in 'Web' application exist in 'Siebel' application
9) Close the 'Siebel' application
10) Remove the 'Siebel' addin
Is it possible to do this ??
Thanks in Advance
Why do you need to add/remove the add-ins? Should be able to run one test with both enabled.
The information in this section applies to the Siebel Add-in in general (for
all Siebel versions).
➤ For optimal performance, it is strongly recommended that when testing
Siebel applications, you work with only the Siebel Add-in loaded. Note that
the QuickTest Professional Web Add-in does not need to be loaded to use
the Siebel Add-in.
➤ ****** It is strongly recommended that when testing Web applications that do not
contain Siebel objects, you do not load the Siebel Add-in. ******
➤ When the Siebel Add-in is loaded, the object identification definitions for
both Web and Siebel objects are set automatically and you cannot access the
object identification definitions for Web or Siebel objects (even if the Web
Add-in is also loaded).
Hmm if that does indeed cause problems(rather than just being sub-optimal) you may need to split that into two tests. You can change the add-ins that are loaded with the api, but I don't believe that is supported during run-time. You could at least package it into one "test" through the use of the api as well. Just some vbscript that opens and runs the web test and then the siebel test.
