I dont know whether we can post this doubt here or not .But im into this forum for long time
Im working in ETL .Mainly i used vbs to compare files and do my validation as im from the automation ground .
Here is my requirement i will be getting different set of characters from the source like greek spanish or hungary like that .I need to check whether these characters are transformed correctly and produced xml output .Cna you give me idea to how to achieve this in terms of testing .
What is correct way of doing testing here . i intially thought giving all the unicode characters in a value in the source and check that in the output whether it is retrieved
If I understand the original post, it looks like Saikri is expecting that his source file will simply change characters from one unicode value to another unicode value. I'm extremely skeptical that this is what will really happen. Are we talking about a document that might be in English and now you'll have a Spanish, Greek, or Hungarian translation of that same document? If so, the entire grammar, syntax, and vocabulary will be changing - it's not just a simple matter of substituting unicode characters.
But then I think that Saikri might already know that, since I suspect English is a second language and she (?) would not do this translating a page from English into her (?) native language.
So maybe I'm misunderstanding.
If this really is just a matter of validating known unicode characters in a document, isn't this something that can be simply handled via checkpoints, regardless of the language of that document?
Hi guys done through some regular expression . On the input i check for the non english characters and check the same thing in the output
Set regEx = New RegExp ' Create a regular expression.
regEx.Pattern = "[ΠΐΘḈḕḡ]"'"[^\u0000-\u0080]+" ' Set pattern.
regEx.IgnoreCase = True ' Set case insensitivity.
regEx.Global = True ' Set global applicability.
