Save script with componets behaves in an unexpected way
I wanted to send someone a zip file containing the QTP script along with functions libraries, database and anything else it can put in the zip.
On the QTP file menu there are two similar sounding choices. The one that makes a zip file of the script alone seems to ask the correct questions such as where the script should be saved. The dialog box seems OK.
The other choice under main says something about saving the script with all of the components. It provides a screen to ask what components should be included. Now the trouble kicks in. There is a dialog box that asks where the zip should be saved. The edit box allows the user to enter a full path or use the ... elipsis button to drill down to the place where the file should be saved. But whoa.... the button on the dialog box says Open. I am trying to do a save and it says Open. What's going on? Is this a mistake or am I not understanding what QTP is trying to do.
Hi, "Export test to zip file" option will save test with all the resources into zip file. it can be send to any other machine.
But make sure to use "Import test from zip file" option on the other machine otherwise it may not work.
I don't believe so. Last time i checked export was just to zip a test without any dependency.

The 'Open' button on the dialog is for opening the Folder in which you want to save the zip file. Click outside the folder, the button changes to 'Save'. It works as it should. Agree?
