QTP Addin Question
QTP doesn't recognize item when I disable some add-ins which was checked when I added them in to the repository
Note: I actually selected all the add in's when I added the objects into repository - .Net, JAVA, Oracle, Siebel, SAP, Web Services, Silverlight, ActiveX. When I just select Web right now and run the script, it's unable to recognize the object and when I add the object again(with only Web checked), it's being added as a new object and recognized when I run it.
So my question is what is the relationship of an object with respect to add in? If some one can brief me or direct me to any description here, it would be helpful for my learning
The add-ins are used to identify that specific type of object where that technology has been implemented.
For eg., in a web page, there is a activeX control - for this object QTP would use WebAdd-in to identify the page and activeX addin to identify that specific object.
As far as i am aware, the above observation should not happen - as later you were able to recognize it with only Web Addin, and so should have been done at the first attempt as well.
May be others could also share their experiences on this.
Thanks for your input. It does seem like the add in does have an influence as it recognized the same object as a new object when I de-selected some of the add-ins.
When automating a Web application, will the Web addin alone be sufficient?
Yes web addin usually is all thats required.
Yes, webaddin is alone suficient in general.
