Hi Level Design Opinions needed
I am starting to test a new application using QTP/UFT.
It has about 10 screens. Most of the work is done on the same main screen.
There are several thousands of combinations of inputs to the GUI.
I'm new to the application, but the manual test cases are clear to me.
The scripts include expected results.
I'm thinking of having
A)low level functions that fill in the GUI objects. I think that I'll use descriptive programming in these functions so that I don't have to maintain an object repository.
B) I cannot decide if I should use workbooks with key words or a lot of individual scripts that all call the low level object functions just mentioned in A.
I have worked on projects that use scripts/actions and another kind with workbooks/worksheets with keywords.
What do you recommend?
Hi Kevin I would prefer workbooks/worksheets with keywords. since you have mentioned
"There are several thousands of combinations of inputs to the GUI. "
It's easy to update the input through workbook.
