UIpath & UFT
i'm currently trying to find out a solution regarding automation on GUI application (ALTEA DCS developped by AMADEUS)
We are facing current issues such as we are not able to retrieve data from GUI using QTP automated tool.
Main reason is that several tab within GUI are considered as pictures and thus QTP is not able to go further by analysing the image caracteristics and retrieve our data.
I've heard about the following Tool : UIpath that would maybe help us getting the solution
Idea would have been getting a specific tool able to work as OCR for some objetcs recongnition and able to handle automated tests
hope all of this clear enough
thanks to all
As i understand from your query UFT is not able to identify the images ( most of the objects are images) in the GUI.
So, did you try Image based recording feature (Insight recording) which come as a new feature with UFT 11.52.
That might help you i beleive.
Hi Swati and thanks a lot for your reply.
Maybe I could be a bit more accurate.
For some reasons with GUI tab are recognized by UFT as images (as it should because they are)
For those same cases, UFT then is not able to understand the value behind the images which we would retrieve and store on our side.
We would know if UFT would be able to do so ? If not, do you know any other tool that could help doing so ?
I'm not sure what you mean by "able to understand teh valjue behind the images". Do you mean the image name, the OCR text in the image, or the image?
I would consider OCR regardless of the tool doing it to be a method of last resort. Prone to errors. Can you check source code, api, or the messages being passed for the data that populates the images instead?
to be more accurate again and sorry for that..
We don't have access to source code
We are only facing issues with UFT which is not able to understand the text and or values required behind the pictures.
We've tried to use Tesseract Google OCR but it failed as well
If any one knows about a specific tool that could be appropriate it would be really amaizing
thanks a lot to all of you for your posts
Does the Object Spy show any values you might be able to use?
In the past I have been able to use the image filename (with a regex) to click the image, something like:
Ignore the space between the gi & f above, tried editing it but still displays the space.
Sorry again for the confusion, let me rephrase it
QTP instead of retrieving a tab within GUI retrieves a picture.
My concern would have been to decode this picture by getting the value within the tab (meaning within the picture)
Does UFT able to do so ?
If not do you know any other tool that could fit to proceed such operation ?
thanks a lot
