Not able to Fetch text from a Java Object
In my application need to fetch text content from an editor which is identified as a JavaObject.
Tried almost all the properties using GetROProperty method but in vain.
Tried several of the Native properties using .object but in vain.
Browsed the forum found some threads but not a solution for my problem.
Can someone please help me out in fetching text content from a JavaObject? Is there some advanced scripting need to use?
Using UFT 11.5 (with Java Addin). Some of the remaining objects are identified as JavaEdit.

This happened to me with a calendar object a couple of years ago. I asked the developer to tell me what methods he used internally to change the date. I still could not call the method.
I asked the developer to stop by. He was saying that it would be useless because he didn't know QTP. As soon as he saw me calling the method, he said that something was just slightly different. I forgot what it was. Maybe it needed single quotes or something that I would not know. Then it worked. So now I ask the developer to look at what I'm trying to do.
Then another idea is to use EA with the Java developer. HP can supply it. It lets the developer write code that will sit inbetween QTP/UFT and the application under test. I guess if I could see some working examples, i'd be able to start coding them myself. It looks as if Java requests data from the properties and methods and sends them to a calling UFT piece of code. HP recommended using a developer of the app to do this part.
I hear talk in here about communicating through the dom object. I am not sure how this works or if it would work here.j
