UFT and Visual Studio Integration
I did a google search and also search across various forums (including this) but didn't find a specific answer. Hence posting this here.
We have a lot of QTP scripts and are moving to Visual Studio now. For now we would like to leverage those scripts and call them through MTM. We found a generic test solution via Google search. However, that solution doesn't address the following configuration:
We are running Visual Studio/MTM on our local laptop. All our test cases will be on this machine. QTP/UFT meanwhile is installed and running on a remote VM that also contains a VS Test Agent. Is this configuration allowed? Has anyone had success with such a configuration?
If I understand you, I do not see a way to do this. I am not an expert but here's my two cents worth. Yes, you could run UFT remotely but UFT would have to be running tests on the same system where it is installed. But again, maybe I am wrong.
Just write a driver script that takes the test name as an argument and run it out of the MTM Generic test. You can use the QTP / UFT AOM with your language of choice to write the driver.
I know this is very old thread but still we are not able to integrate UFT with TFS . Could you please provide us Code or step .
