QTP 11 , IE8, Windows 7 - Problem in Identifying Objects
I have opened up this thread after a lot of surfing on the subject. There have been many of posts with regard to the problem I have, and most of you may see this as a redundant question. But the reason I have opened this post is, that I have tried ALL of what I read on other posts, with no improvement. So please bear with me and help me hit the solution.
Ok here is the problem.
On two of my office computers (and I don't know how many others have this problem), I try to spy on a WebEdit using QTP 11 on IE8, but the spy identifies the Browser as a WIndow and then the page as a WinObject. Similar issue happened on my personal computer as well, but I solved the problem a year ago. I have tried all I could to resolve the issue on these two computers, but nothing worked.
Here is what we use:
HP QuickTest Professional 11
Internet Explorer 8
Windows 7 32-Bit
And my settings on IE 8 are as follows
Protected Mode is disabled
Third-party add-ons are enabled
BHOManager Add-on is enabled
And on Windows 7, I have UAC disabled
I first run QTP as administrator. Once QTP is launched, I run IE8 as administrator, then navigate to my AUT.
Then, I use QTP's Object Spy to spy on a WebEdit, and what I see is a Window("xxx").WinObject("xxx").
Can anyone help me out? Any little help is appreciated.
Thank you very much.
