Disable the UAC(User Account Control)
Instructions for installing QTP 11.52 say to
Disable the UAC(Auser Account Control) feater. (Windows 7)
I am using Windows 7.
What does UAC mean?
User Access Control
Basically that prompt that annoys you each time you want to do an admin level action (like edit the control panel). Most automation tools will require you to do that, since it needs low level access to spy on another program's memory space.
Which can be tricky if your company security policy does not allow you to disable uac protection.
i assume you must be having admin privileges on your pc already.. clicking the continue button should let you install it.... FYI - UFT with W7 gets little bit annoying sometimes with DCOM objects.... it depends on your company security policy though..
David, NoUse4aName, saram,
I appreciate the information about the UAC control.
I went to the Contol panel, searched on UAC. Clicked on the blue link. I see the vertical slider control.
