We are planning to upgrade from QTP 11 to UFT 11.5 however when we are talking to HP they gave us following options to upgrade :
Can you please tell what is the difference between UFT Seat, Site and Concurrent Licenses.
As per my understanding there are only two types of licenses but.
A permanent license that is specific to the computer on which it is installed. When you first install QuickTest, this license includes a 14-day demo period during which you must contact HP to obtain a permanent seat license key. After you receive the seat license key, you can activate it to work with QuickTest Professional permanently.
A concurrent license regulates the number of QuickTest Professional concurrent users. You can work with a concurrent license only if a concurrent license server is installed on your local network, and that license server has at least one available license that is not currently in use.
Seat is specific to one computer at one location (i.e., your computer at your office building).
Site is a type of a concurrent license that can be used in one defined location on many computers (i.e., your office building).
Area is a type of concurrent license that can be used across multiple defined locations on many computers (i.e., your office building and others in the locale).
Global is a type of concurrent license that can be used across globally defined locations on many computers (i.e., your office building and others globally).
