QTP missing parameter help plus qtp 11 vs qtp 11.52
Hi guys I am running into some issues i had some scripts left over from someone who left the company and now i am modifying them. I have also added some parameters that reference the local datatable. After making all these modification I am now finding during run time all the paramters that are missing or not being addressed properly from the local data table. is there some feature that will check all the run actions and let me know which parameters are missing rather then me having to run script and wait for error. I have over a 200 different actions calling the local data sheet . so anything that helps me identify missing parameters would be of great help.
The 2nd issue is I wanted to use a excel sheet from office 2010 which 11.52 ssupports but my boss does not like the new environment. That would have made the above problem obsolete.
I was wondering how different is the syntax for importing data with that version . any bad experiencees ?
I would think that you can manually go into the library and write down the name of each function and put the number of parameters next to it. Also there is a tab in QTP that shows all of the available functions in the libraries. Once you know the number of expected parameters you can check each call to every function and see if they have the right number of parameters. I don't know of a utility that would check this for you.
I'm still on QTP 11 so I cannot assist you with the second part of your question.
Hi Kevin i was afraid of that. I was hoping to find some feature of qtp that would check all the parameters in datatable and make sure they are addressed properly ....h,,
Can anyone out there think of an idea to assist systemdude?
Systemdude...Could you explain just a little bit more what you are trying to do. I'm thinking of 3 parts but I do not know how they fit together in your code.
Maybe if you describe it a bit more, someone will have a suggestion.
