Get/Set Property Review
GetROProperty - The properties of an object in the Application under test.
SetROProperty() - I don't think this is possible. QTP would be telling the application's objects properties to change. It does not makes sense.
GetToProperty(). This retrieves the value from the Object Repository.
SetToProperty(). It sounds as if this would change the value in the when the script is running. Do the values in the OR stick when the script stops running? Are there functions for making permanent changes to the OR?
SetTOProperty is a run-time change and will not be saved. SetROProperty cannot be done directly, it usually happens through other methods like Set, Select, etc.
Most of the time UFT confuse you with same concept for 1. Run-time 2. design-time e.g.
C. OR setter/Getter ( the Question you have asked
Design-time(x) will reshape as initial state after run-time(x) change
If SetTOProperty does not save the change to the OR at the end of the the script run, are there other functions for permanently saving the OR changes?
I do not have a need to do this now. I am just wondering.
Run test in Maintenance mode or update mode...
These are ways to update the test object.
Is it possible to write a scirpt that traverses a page using childobjects of different types. Then store the information into an OR?
I'm thinking that I could make a XML file with the shape of the XML format.
I worked on a project where I saved the properties into Excel sheets and used them as an OR. But I want to build the OR as the scirpt is running.
I think we could do this with WinRunner.
