Unable to stop QTP
After exceution of 5-6 hours if i click on Stop, the execution is stopped but QTP still in running mode, i clicked lot of times on stop button but it can't come to editable mode..then i killed the QTP in task manager and reopened.
what may be the reason, will i required to install any patches?
Anyone face this issue earlier?
i am using QTP10,Windows XP, IE7
Memory leak could be an issue with longer runs in QTP. You should try and restart your QTP every 3-4 hours

Write teardown logic , stop qtp programatically, clear temp and other area , kill all unncessary process blocked by qtp.
Same problem occurs for me but tried this, before invoking QTP and other dependent applications clear all the temp files and Run.
It Worked sometimes so please check this work for you and try yogi's as well.
Is this working any better in QTP 11? or UFT?
i tried to stop QTP with using AOM to overcome this issue...normally it's working fine but after 5 to 6 hours execution it also not working and it throws error as "Failed to stop the test run " and source code "800A03FD"
I cleaned all the temp files also but no luck
Chowdary, do you mean stop QTP as in "stop the QTP run" or "close/shut down QTP"?
"because restarting every time QTP may not possible in my situation" ---- If you are running your scripts for different sets of data, split the data and try with restarts as suggested above. If your test scenarios themselves are extremely lenghty, break them down into smaller ones. Use stubs and drivers to run the smaller ones end to end.
Can you provide your system state when you hang with this issue . Also your system configuration information ( OS and tool version etc).
Also do you want to monitor memory in report? if you did can you share that as well.
