FTP Automation with qtp
Is is possible to connect to a unix host, traverse to a directory and download those files to a local working folder in windows, the way we do it with Filezilla
Is there any object model etc to do this (avoiding the GUI approach)
Does this work for a unix host as well?
I did not exactly understand how to use the content mentioned on the post
The OS of the external host doesn't matter, the host just needs to be running an ftp server. The code referenced just uses a dll that comes standard with windows.
I do this via a Batch File (I have WinSCP installed on my machine:
These FTP commands are in a file ftp.txt
option batch abort
option confirm off
# option transfer binary
Call the .bat file that contains this command
winscp.exe /console /script="C:\FTP\ftp.txt"
I achieved the same with WinSCP as well
I have Winscp installed. but not able to download files from ftp to local.
ftp server :- email@example.com
do I nee to append root.local above? also in bat file, do I need to give whole path of winscp.exe?
mylogin should be the username you would login to the Nix machine with.
