XMLUTIL Root Question
I had a thread going on this a few months ago. I added an additional item at the end of the thread. I was suprised that the forum did not move it up to the front since it has new activity. I am asking the question in a new thread. I'm thinking that the old thread is so far back in the pages that not many will see it.
Here is my question:
Set oXML = XMLUTIL.CreateXML()
set oRoot = oXML.GetRootElement
strRoot = oRoot.name
How do I get to see the value of oRoot. It does not like .name. Maybe .Value would work?
I answered on the other thread before I saw this one. Just in case you haven't looked there, I think what you're looking for is oRoot.ElementName.
Oh, and I mentioned a while back that I might put together an XMLUtil tutorial document. I started working on it and quickly realized that I'd be better off just putting together a script with a lot of examples and comments. I've got part of that done. Work has gotten a bit hectic, though, so it might still be a while before I can finish it.
I'm also putting the answer here if anyone is looking for the answer.
I would like to volunteer to review it.
It would be interesting to do the same example using XMLDOM to see the differences.
Yes. I also found the answer on QTP.blogspot.com
