xpath property is not displayed in QTP 11
HI, I am using qtp 11. it should show me xpath property in list of properties in object spy.
In my case, xpath is not listed in the properties (I am NOT saying that its value is blank!!), i am saying that XPATH property option is not avialable.
do I need to do some change in object identification or what??
Object Spy doesn't display XPath, because QTP will not suggest you an XPath and they don't show it in Object Spy. When you go to the OR and manually add the properties, you will see that XPath is available
means there is not an easy way to use xpath in DP?
Tools > Options > Web > Advanced > Learn and run using automatic XPath identifiers
what is the meaning of this?
I have rad topic "How to Use Web Object Identifiers - Exercise " in qtp help file..
they are using below values-
//td[contains(concat(' ',text(),' '),'Quality')]/../*/INPUT
Question is how to get these values?? i.e. is thr any way to get these values thru qtp or i need to generate myself?
i thought there is something like firebug in Mozilla/selenium??
1. You can add that property in OR manually. In Object Identification there is no xpath property you can configure for the newly learned objects, so no luck.
You can use xpath and xml SelectNodes method to navigate to the xpath with your logic.
2. Xpath checker add-in in firefox.
3. Hopefully you already know about it, but in case.
