How to retrive Numbering from word document
I have a requirement document (word). It has requirement details with numbering. Now i want to retrive only the numbers (requirement ID) from the document. What could be the possible piece of code for this issue?
Ten years back I worked with a tool from HP/Mercury that imported requirements from Word and put them into a format that feeds into Quality Center. It also worked with Excel to QC. Does anyone remember what this could be. I think after using that tool you could get to the numbering.
I don't have Tarun's fist Unplugged book with me, but it had a chapter on working with QTP and Word. Maybe it has info on what you are trying to do.
The tools you're thinking of are the QC add-ins for importing from Word and Excel. You can get them by going to the Help menu inside QC and clicking the link to the Add-Ins page. Click the More Add-ins link from there and they'll be in the list somewhere.
Regarding the original poster's request... sorry, not sure if the import tools will help or not.
