QTP is Identifying everything as Window Object . Please help
I am using Windows7 OS and QTP 9.5. After the successful installation while trying to use QTP, i found everything including browsers are getting identified as window object in QTP . Although the default Add-ins are already checked for the Activex ,Web and Vb everything is recognized as window object.
Is there any specific settings that needs to be done in Windows 7 for QTP. Please help me in providing any appropriate solution.
QTP by default recognize winObject if QTP (and its Add-in) do not understand the object.
I doubt QTP9.5 work on Win7. Can you please check read-me/Installation file in your set-up.
Yes it is working now. After i uncheck the protected mode in internet explorer under security tab of internet option , QTP is identifying the web objects. But when i am spying the browser it is showing win object again but inside the browser it is again identifying the test object as web objects and follows the required object hierarchy . If i try to record, some times it records as window object and when i do any operation in any web object(ex:clicking a web button, setting value in webedit) it records and generate script with the below hirarchy :
However i can be able to proceed now.
One more query,
Does QTP support mozila firefox / Chrome as web browser. If yes , do we need to specific add ins for that ?

Firefox yes. You need add ins. Go to Anshoo's super helpful site Relevant Codes (by Anshoo Arora) and search on patch. You can check fpr chrome as well.
I usually go to Relevant Codes and HP site. If I am trying to work with a new version of a browser I also open a new ticket with Hp because sometimes there is a patch that does not appear on the web because it is so new.
No I don't mean not to go on Anshoo's site for add-in. Quite obvious his site is very great place for QTP related stuff and for long time and he is doing great help. The point is, I have seen a HP related thread Another reason why HP sucks | Joe Colantonio - Helping YOU Succeed with Test Automation Tools | QTP-UFT-ALM-LoadRunner-Selenium-soapUI & more for patches and refrain to mention anything else than.
No add ins needed. All you need is to install the proper Patches for Firefox and Chrome.

Hope this will solve the issue. Let me know after trying this
Where can i get the Patches for Firefox and chrome? what is the installation process for the patches? Do we need to keep the patches anywhere in the Program file where QTP files are installed ?
