QuickTest Professional was launched without permission to interact the desktop
I'm trying to execute a QuickTest Pro automated test from a local instance of Quality Center 11 to a remote host where QTP 11 is installed. I setup DCOM using the script provided in the following knowledge base article:
It works on one test machine but fails on another. The error returned in the log is the following:
General Run Error: QuickTest Professional was launched without permission to interact with the desktop.
I tried different combinations of DCOM settings but nothing worked. I also tried setting the following registry key to 1 since I read this could fix this problem:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SoftwareMercury Interactive\Quick Test Professional\MicTest\SkipEnvironmentChecks
On this forum, the only post I could find regarding this issue is the following:
In that case, the problem seemed to be caused by the controller and the host not being on the same domain. However, in my case, both machine are on the same domain. I logged a ticket with HP already but they haven't been very helpful so far.
Did anyone ever experienced this issue? Also, any information regarding how these DCOM settings work would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!
On the machine where it fails in QTP have you set the "Allow other products....." flag?
Yes, I got that flag setup.
