I have installed on a Windows 2003 Server , QTP 11(with all available patches, 16 of them to be precise), TestAdvantage for HP (Infragistics) 2010 Vol 2 and my application.
When trying to record and play on the server, all works fine.
Then I publish QTP trough Citrix (Citrix Delivery Services Console Version 3; as an application accessed from sever, session window set to full screen and true color 24 bit ) and accessing it trough XenApp 5 (set to connect as full screen)
The result is that, when accessed through terminal server, QTP stops recognizing SWF objects!, it can see all other type of objects, like Java ones, but the ones that are SWF are not being recognized as such, just as Windows object.
I start my application from QTP (Is set on the record and play setting, and its calling the same batch file I call when trying on the server) so I'm pretty sure they are both on the same session in addition to this in this server the balance load is not set.
Any ideas on how can I make this work in the terminal server?
I just need QTP to detect the SWF objects when launched through terminal server.
ALL ideas are welcome!
Your QTP and app should be lodged in the same server...
As Vengat mentioned, QTP must be installed and accessed from the server where your application under test is installed. It would not recognize the objects if you access it from Citrix web presentation.
This setup is almost same for all automation test tools.
Hi Vengat and Reddy.k,
Thanks, but yes like I mention they are both in the same server and when starting the terminal server session they are both on the same session.
any other ideas?
