I'm having a wierd error in my script. All I am doing is saying column is <> "" to set the field. This works fine if the column is a number, but when it is text, it shows as blank. Not sure why the same cell could have different behavior.
Patience is like bread I say.... I ran out of that yesterday.
IsNull verifies if a variable is specifically Null. In VBScript that usually means you have to specifically set the variable equal to Null. An initialized variable is considered Empty not Null.
MsgBox IsNull(strValue) 'will be false
strValue = Null
MsgBox IsNull(strValue) 'will be true
You could use a function to cover all your bases
Function IsNullOrEmpty(ByVal varVariable)
IsNullOrEmpty = False
If IsNull(varVariable) Or IsEmpty(varVariable) Or CStr(varVariable) = "" Or TypeName(varVariable) = "Nothing" Then
IsNullOrEmpty = True
