We have QTP v11 tests stored in ALM, and are running them using a program that interfaces to the OTA API Scheduler object.
The ALM server is located in the United States Pacific time zone (GMT -08:00). The tests are running on workstations located in the United States Eastern time zone (GMT -05:00).
In ALM we see that the execution time of the Steps in the Run are recorded as the time from the workstation - Eastern time zone.
In ALM we see that the execution time for the Run is recorded as the time from the server - Pacific time zone.
In ALM we see that the execution time recorded for the Test Instance is varying inconsistently. Sometimes it is the time from the workstation (Eastern) and other times it is the time from the server (Pacific).
There is no consistency on this. It happens inconsistently per test instance. It can happen whether the final result of the test is passed or failed.
