    SwfObject in Qtp

    Hi guys,

I've been working with an application called middleware,
tnis application was developed in .Net, but this application is used
only as an interface to interact with various systems and actual operations are in SAP GUI,
    SQL, Visual Basic, etc..
When I try to record scripts in QTP,
actually the objects as recognized such as SWFObject me and let me know
if that's right for automating or actually has a limitation and can not be automated,
I want to somebody tell me that it means when it detects an object as SWFObject.
I attached a picture of a button that i spy on and what it shows me the properties
identified by QTP. I require your help.

    Regards
    Adrian Romero

    Re: SwfObject in Qtp

    1. have you activate correct add-in?
    2. If the app required minimal actions then record in low-level mode and proceed further.
    3. Spy it out and see the properties you are getting.

Your QTP in current config is taking button as .swf object.

    Re: SwfObject in Qtp

    Hi Adrian

A couple of things that may help:

    1) Do you know which version of .net the app is compiled in? I had to get patches from hp to support .net 4. I've attached my .net test app for you to see what QTP is/isn't working with.

    2) Have your developers used custom controls? If so you may need to create a .net toolkit for it. Use the .object.tostring method to see what type of controls these are - the following post explains more. You should be able to manipulate the controls using the properties and methods exposed in the .object statement.

    .object.tostring blog post

    Good luck!
