Using varaibles to run QTP actions and Methods
Just wondering if this is possible (I had a quick try and gave up due to time pressures).
I was trying to put a few exceptions to standard flows into a separate datasheet and then put the different steps into columns.
Then use the values in these columns to run QTP actions or Events on the application under test.
An Example might make more sense:
'DataSheet Name with the Actions is Called DtActions
And it has 3 columns filled in
Column_1 = RunAction "Process [Process]", oneIteration, FALSE
Column_2 = Browser("Application").Page("APP").Link("Enquiry") .Click
Column_3 = BLANK (meaning loop will exit)
For i = 1 to 50 ' 50 steps max
strCol = "Column_" &i
If DataTable(strCol,"DtActions") <> "" Then
strAction = DataTable(strCol,"DtActions")' On the first Loop I'd like to run the Reusable Action, Second Loop the Click
I hope this makes some sense, I have no idea how to put into words what I'm trying to accomplish.
Re: Using varaibles to run QTP actions and Methods
This is the first time this has been shared online.
It is an early prototype of a framework. It was done in QTP 9.0 from memory.
It is provided as is. There is no support for this demo.
