I have a quick question:
Is it possible to get value from the context menu displayed then select it. For example am not aware of position of the option to be chosen, it changes depends on the content or page. So I want to get the value from the context menu, then select the required option.
Re: QTP - How to read options from the context menu
I dont have a specific scenario. I have tried with notepad applciation and not able to spy the context mennu.
When we right click on any page/editor the context menu appears. The context menu options position changes based on the page/editor. Irrespective of using sendkeys "Down", can we use some other methods to read the value and when it matches the expected value, then that particular option should be selected.
That was me right-clicking a file in Windows Explorer and selecting Properties. It plays back fine. I recommend you start there and just use the text of the menu item you wish to select. I'm using IE 9 on Windows 7 with QTP 11... it might matter.
